Getting Ready For Your Microblading Session - Effective 30-day Preparation

Getting Ready For Your Microblading Session – Effective 30-day Preparation

The microblading process is a fantastic way of adding color to your eyebrows. Some things you should know about before you get started with the procedure. For example,  what to expect during your appointment and how to prepare beforehand.

Getting ready for your microblading session is a crucial part of the process. Before you book your appointment, you must have realistic expectations and research what to expect from the procedure. In this blog post, we will discuss how to prepare yourself before your microblading appointment!

Things To Do In Getting Ready For Your Microblading Session

There are things to consider before your microblading appointment, which you have to follow or do to achieve a rewarding microblading result.

During the microblading procedure, a microblading artist makes tiny cuts on your brow skin to implant the pigment while making some hairlike strokes mimicking the natural eyebrow hair. The procedure takes about three hours because your technician wants to make sure that your eyebrows are perfectly fabulous after the procedure. Therefore, you have to prepare yourself physically for the procedure.

What Are My Responsibilities?

Microblading is a cosmetic tattooing technique that applies pigment to the area of skin using fine needles. And one of the things you have to do in getting ready for your microblading session is to know your responsibilities before meeting your microblading artist.

When getting ready for your microblading session, make sure you attend your appointment with enough time to get in, relax and have some refreshments before any work begins. It’s also vital to make sure you’re well-rested for your microblading procedure, so we recommend not drinking caffeine or alcohol up until 24 hours before the appointment.

Furthermore, leave your natural brows and don’t pluck, tweeze, wax, or thread them so that your microblading artist would determine the suitable eyebrow style for you. If you want your technician to see your preferred eyebrow look every day, you can wear makeup when you meet your artist.

What Should I Do for My Skincare Routine?

Another essential matter to know in getting ready for your microblading session is what to do for your skincare routine. Talk to your microblading artist about the dos and don’ts for your skincare routine so that your eyebrow skin is well-prepared on your appointment day.

What Can I Expect During My Appointment?

Before the treatment begins, we always take a moment to go over your expectations and preferences for what you want to achieve with microblading. Our goal is that you feel confident with the procedure’s outcome when it’s all said and done and leave our studio with a happy smile on your face!

Is There Anything Else I Should Know Before Getting Started?

We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes (or earlier) prior to our opening time so that you have enough time to get settled in comfortably before starting any work. If this isn’t possible due to scheduling conflicts or traffic delays, please let your microblading artist know as soon as possible to accommodate your needs upon arrival.

Another thing to note in getting ready for your microblading session is to cancel your other plans on the day of your microblading procedure since the treatment lasts for three hours (depending on how perfectionist your technician is). Your mind is focused on your treatment.

Other Things to Consider When Getting Ready for Your Microblading Session

Microblading is an excellent way to transform the eyebrows and make them gorgeous, so many ladies (and gents) opt to have the procedure. However, not everyone is a good candidate for the procedure. Nonetheless, if you plan on having your eyebrow makeover, it’s vital to do your research even before booking your appointment. You should have complete knowledge about the treatment so you can make the necessary preparations.

Here are other things you have to do in getting ready for your microblading session.

# 1: Consult your microblading expert and have a patch test behind the ear to ensure that you don’t have allergic reactions!

It’s vital to do a patch test for the various pigments your microblading artist uses for the procedure to determine if you have any allergic reactions. Some clients may have unexpected effects on their skin undertones from the ink’s color; this way, the technician can add color to adjust.

Microblading results differ from different types of skin. Some skin types are perfect for the treatment, while others are challenging for the procedure. The good news for clients with dry skin is the microblading outcome is better. Drink less water up to your microblading procedure to help your technician make the treatment more accessible.

# 2: Prepare yourself to keep still for a couple of hours for the microblading procedure.

One thing to consider when getting ready for your microblading session is to be ready to lie down for extended hours. Ensure to wear comfortable clothes before meeting your technician. Ask your microblading artist if you can listen to music during the procedure so you won’t get bored for the whole commencement of the procedure.

# 3: Bring a photo of your ideal eyebrow style to show your microblading expert.

It’s helpful to show your technician a photo of your ideal eyebrow style so she will know your preference. There’s a big chance that your esthetician follows your desired style. However, she may suggest a better style that best suits you.

Things to Avoid Before Your Microblading Session

Getting ready for your microblading session plays a vital role in the procedure and avoiding some restrictions. Remember to prevent yourself from doing these matters before your appointment.

One month before your microblading session:

  • Cancel facial treatments like botox, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, or facials.
  • Stop using (if you’re using) or don’t use Retin-A

Two weeks prior to your appointment:

  • Avoid sun exposure at all costs (sun tanning or sunbathing) because sun exposure will compromise how well pigment heals into the skin, which means it needs more treatments over time, and fewer of them may be successful since the skin won’t be as prepared.
  • Don’t use Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products close to the eyebrow area.
  • Prevent using any products to peel off your skin.

48 hours before meeting your esthetician:

  • Refrain from using supplements for hair, skin, and nail. In addition, avoid taking prenatal vitamins, fish oil, or nutritional shakes.
  • Refrain from drinking Vitamin E, Ibuprofen, Niacin, or Aspirin since these are blood diluting medicines.

24 hours before the procedure: Don’t intake alcohol or caffeinated drinks.

Avoid doing strenuous activities like working out on the day of your appointment because it affects your microblading result. Your blood circulation will speed up your body’s heat expands your pores when you do such activity. For sure, you don’t want to be unhappy with your microblading outcome, right?

Bonus Tips When Getting Ready for Your Microblading Session

When getting ready for your microblading session, you should know these microblading facts before scheduling your appointment.

Look for a Reputable Salon

Entrusting the future of your eyebrows should be in the right hand of a reputable salon with well-experienced and highly skilled microblading experts. You should search for a salon where your friends, colleagues, or loved ones recommend you to go.

Word of mouth from your friends or relatives is reliable in searching for the proper studio for your eyebrow makeover, primarily if they have the first-hand experience with the said studio and technician.

The Procedure Has Different Outcome

When getting ready for your microblading session, expect a variation of your microblading result. In the first few days after the initial treatment, your newly transformed eyebrows will be darker. Don’t freak out when this happens because it’s natural for the brows to look darker during the healing process.

It can take up to six months for the full effects of your procedure to show, and you must be patient throughout this period so as not to rush the process or risk additional problems such as fading, pigment loss, etc.

Patience is essential because it’s not possible to predict the outcome of your procedure. Before booking a microblading appointment, ask yourself if you are ready for the total commitment required to see positive results.

Your technician will advise you to go back for a touch-up after a couple of months to fill in the brow area where the pigment fades out.

Microblading Is Not for Everyone

As mentioned beforehand, though microblading is an excellent method to fill in your sparse brows and transform them into thick and full-blown eyebrows, unfortunately, this procedure is not for everyone. Some of the factors that may disqualify you from having the procedure are:

  • You have sensitive skin.
  • You are pregnant.
  • You are lactating.
  • You have some health issues.

We recommend you sit with your microblading artist and discuss everything to know the best thing to do.

Post-care Plays a Significant Role

Post-care is necessary to avoid potential complications such as fading, pigment loss, etc. Your technician will give you a list of the dos and don’ts for your upkeep. Make sure to follow every aftercare rule strictly to achieve the satisfying result that you want to have.

Every day, we feel the urge to look our best. And with that comes all of the tools and tricks necessary to carry out that goal. Before you know it, you’ve got an entire arsenal in your bathroom!

But don’t be fooled: not every tool is for everyone or every occasion. Getting ready for your microblading session can take place; there are some things you should do at home, as well as some things they will recommend before getting started on the big day itself.
