Facts about Microblading

Preparation is key

There are some things you need to avoid before getting microbladed, namely, anything that will thin out your blood. If you drink a lot, take aspirin or use retinol, stop one week before your treatment. Retinol makes your skin thin, and then you bleed a little more. So avoid blood thinners, aspirin, anything caffeinated, and alcohol during the healing process.

It doesn’t hurt

The overall pain of microblading feels just like little scratches. You will know the procedure going on, but it’s not unbearable. At BrowBeat Studio, we prepare our patients’ brows with topical numbing cream and apply it throughout the process to dull any discomfort. If you have low pain tolerance, we say that it’s best if you use a cream for numbing an hour beforehand the process.

Aftercare is essential

Aftercare means protecting your freshly-bladed brows from all moistures. It means no sweaty workouts, swimming, or washing your face with water for a whole week. If you get them wet, the scab comes off too early, and you will lose the pigment.

IMPORTANT:

Some patients experience itching and redness during the first week, which Vaseline can alleviate. Slight redness and mild swelling are normal. Aftercare ointments are provided during your first appointment. Brows will also look slightly darker at first, but the color will fade 30 to 40 percent. Overall, they look great right away, and you don’t have to hide.

You will also have to avoid visiting your makeup artist and other putting on any product on your eyebrows while they heal since it’s like an open wound.

Results can last up to two years

Depending on their skin and lifestyle, our clients come back for touch-ups once every six months or up to two years if they wait for the tattooed eyebrows to fade.

While they will be long-lasting, clients should have realistic expectations and understand the brows will naturally fade. Your body might metabolize pigment more quickly, or if your skin is oilier, the pigment breaks down faster. Strokes soften and blur a bit. If you think it’ll stay looking precisely like hairs forever and stay sharp, that’s not going to happen.
